A new year is upon us and with that comes a sense of new beginnings. Even though not much has changed with the rolling over of the calendar year, we typically use this time to reflect on the past year and make plans for the future.
2017 was a year of major growth at CWDesign. As our project list and client base grew, so did the need to grow our team. As we prepare for upcoming projects in 2018, I anticipate that the team will be growing once again.
Not only did the business grow, I grew personally because of it. There was a lot of new learning opportunities in 2017 and it has made me really take the time to evaluate where I see our company going, as well as the direction I think the industry should be taking, and CWDesign's role in that.
I typically don't do New Year's resolutions. If anything, I always resolve to do MORE of something - travel more, read more, etc. When I sat down to set some goals for the year, they were all based on intention rather than resolution.
2018 intention: to be more mindful of where my time and energy goes (in business and in life).
I'm encouraging you to do the same this year with the way that you approach how your life is designed. Do you need to spend 20 minutes every morning looking for the right outfit to wear? Check out our tips for custom closet designs we did with RSVP Design to get organized and take back your mornings!
Take a look at the space you live in. Does it reflect who you are? Does it make you feel good to come home at the end of the day and relax in your space? We recently got the opportunity to work on a really personal project in Victoria. Read how our homeowners are turning a basic builder condo into a haven for family history.
I'm always saying how planning in advance is the best way to mitigate challenges in your renovation. But what if you planned in advance to anticipate upcoming maintenance in your home? Last month I sat down with CEO of RMS, Jim Kupczak, about the preventative maintenance service they provide and why it's the best medicine for your home.
I'm excited for 2018 and all of the changes that are coming. I'm challenging myself to be mindful this year of my intention. What are your intentions for the year? Where could you be more mindful of your time and energy?
